Quique Dacosta, star at the 10th anniversary of Les Grands Chefs Relais & Châteaux
The funds raised at this exclusive dinner, totalling 240,000 dollars, are intended for scholarships so that young graduates can receive vocational training at the best restaurants in Europe
Montreal, May 18th, 2018. The Spanish chef Quique Dacosta, winner of 3 Michelin stars, cooked at The Cabaret last night, at the Casino of Montreal (Canada), while celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Les Grands Chefs Relais & Châteaux. The purpose was to raise funds to support the Tourism and Hotel Institute of Quebec Foundation (ITHQ) and provide a scholarship to young graduates, so they can obtain exclusive vocational training at main European restaurants.
The chef, who travelled to the Canadian city along with part of his Quique Dacosta Restaurante team, designed an exclusive menu for over 200 people. It was based on some of the most iconic dishes from his career, such as Piedras de parmesano (Parmesan Stones), Arroz cenizas (Ash Rice), La bruma (The Mist) and Rosa (Pink), some of which can be enjoyed at QDR, the only three-Michelin star restaurant in the Community of Valencia.
The event, which in past years boasted the participation of other three-star chefs such as Michel Troisgros, Olivier Roellinger, Jean-Michel Lorain, Annie Feolde, Patrick Bertron, Christopher Kostow, Emmanuel Renaut, Frédéric Anton and Régis Marcon, has now become one of the year's most remarkable and exclusive happenings in Montreal.
This season, Quique Dacosta Restaurante, over the last few years included on the prestigious list The World's 50 Best Restaurants, and twice-awarded winner of the Best Restaurant in Europe by Opinionated About Dining, is offering La Evolución y El Origen (Evolution and Origin), his culinary proposal for 2018. In doing so, the chef reinforces his understanding and harmony with his region, placing value on the product, his analysis and innovative search, travelling a path of ancestral origin that he had already begun last year with DNA La Búsqueda (DNA The Search).
